your Intellectual Property
A good idea, an ingenious invention or an innovative product is the first step towards commercial success. The second step is to protect oneself from copycats. This is exactly what we are here for. As patent attorneys, we take care of the appropriate protection of your intellectual property in the form of a patent, a utility model, a trademark or a design. We support you through the entire process, from assessing protectability, drafting and filing your application, guiding you through the grant process, to defending and enforcing your IP rights – anywhere in the world.
We have been protecting your ideas for 70 years
Our firm is one of the leading patent law firms in Austria and was founded in 1952. For over 70 years, we have been the first address for innovative companies, individual inventors and product developers. In our two offices in Innsbruck (Tirol) and Rankweil (Vorarlberg), we support and assist our clients in all matters regarding intellectual property rights, in particular, in respect of patents, utility models, trademarks and designs. Our team of experienced patent attorneys and skilled technical assistants ensure that our clients’ rights are protected in Austria and abroad, even in complex cases.
Patents and utility models protect inventions in a field of technology. In addition to traditional technical fields such as mechanical and process engineering, electronics and electrical engineering, and mechatronics, our areas of expertise also include physics, medical engineering, materials and plastics engineering, and information and communication technology.
Design and trademark protection
Trademarks protect signs used for the identification of goods and services. In particular, product and company names as well as logos are considered as “signs”.
Designs protect the “appearance” of a product, i.e. the design of a product. This can be the shape or look of the product or a part of it. The appearance of a product also includes the graphical user interface of a programme or an app.
